Pulp Heroes vs. Superheroes with Richard Lee Byers

the-impostor-1-half-a-hero1Before Superman and Batman, there was Doc Savage and The Shadow. Prior to the Golden Age of Comics, the first masked heroes graced the yellowed pages of the pulp magazines. And while they were similar in many ways, they were different in just as many.

In this episode, Perry is joined by noted fantasy author, Richard Lee Byers. A veteran of fantasy and horror writing, including The Forgotten Realms series, Richard Lee Byers is also the self-published author ofย The Impostor, a series of ebooks featuring a masked hero set in a world where all the other superheroes have been killed in an alien invasion!

Join Perry and Richard as they discuss the similarities and differences between the pulp heroes and the superheroes, and listen to some tips from one of the masters of superhero fiction on how to craft interesting superhero stories yourself!

    • I just tested the episode and I’ve been able to play it from the site on my computer on different browsers and it also plays fine when accessing the site on my iPad and iPhone. I also tested it on the iTunes Store and it works there as well. I can only conclude that there’s something wrong on your end.
